Mr. Boru Gufu Badolicha is an accomplished educationist and governance leader with over 28 years of professional experience across Kenya and Australia. He brings to the Board a wealth of expertise in policy leadership, institutional development, and community engagement.
He was appointed as the Chairperson of the Marsabit County Public Service Board in August 2025 by H.E. Governor Mohamud Mohamed Ali.
Mr. Badolicha has undertaken extensive professional training in Kenya and overseas in areas including Education Leadership, Public Governance, Work Health and Safety, Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making, Restorative Practices, and Cultural Awareness, among others.
A former senior teacher and seasoned administrator, he has chaired numerous committees in education, welfare, and governance—driving transformative reforms and fostering inclusive growth within school systems and diaspora communities alike.
As an active diaspora leader, he has championed civic education, health awareness, and peacebuilding initiatives. He also served as an Executive Member of the Kenya–Australia Chamber of Commerce, where he strengthened bilateral relations through business collaboration and community partnerships between the two nations.
He is a passionate advocate for youth empowerment and educational equity, having mentored hundreds of students and professionals, and designed programs that enhance university access and employability.
Mr. Badolicha holds a Master of Arts in Development Studies from Murdoch University Australia and a Bachelor of Education degree from Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya. His academic research explored the post-colonial determinants of conflict and underdevelopment in Northern Kenya.
As Chairperson of the Marsabit County Public Service Board, he provides strategic direction, oversees policy implementation, ensures accountability and transparency, facilitates effective board operations, and promotes stakeholder engagement and collaborative decision-making.
